DIGITALCHEM - Chemical synthesis using a flow-through platform integrating a self-adapting algorithm and autonomous structural determination.
DIGITALCHEM is a project led by François-Xavier FELPIN which will develop the world's first flow platform for autonomous screening and optimization of reaction conditions.
Project summary
Chemical synthesis is facing an unprecedented digital revolution, based on the massive use of information technologies. The 4.0 laboratory is becoming connected, intelligent, flexible and autonomous, enabling experimenters to move away from manual, routine and repetitive tasks. The DigitalChem project will break new technological ground by developing the world's first flow platform for autonomous screening and optimization of reaction conditions. This technological breakthrough will be achieved through the development of ad-hoc control/algorithm software and the use of an on-line NMR spectrometer with an autonomous spectral recognition function. This autonomous flow platform will be used to discover new catalytic systems for the oxidative cyclization of phenols into products of pharmaceutical interest.
