CASSIR Association

Who are we?

CASSIR (CEISAM Association for Social and Scientific Interactions between Researchers), founded in December 2023 within the CEISAM laboratory, brings together PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, engineers, technicians, and scientists. Our mission is to unite members of the laboratory through scientific, cultural, and social events. We aim to foster a welcoming and dynamic working environment by strengthening interactions between teams and encouraging the sharing of experiences throughout the year.

Events

Throughout the year, CASSIR organizes a wide range of events designed to enrich both the scientific and social life of CEISAM members. On the scientific side, the association initiated the first edition of the CEISAM Congress, held on March 12–13, 2025, which brought together around one hundred participants for invited plenary lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions from the laboratory. CASSIR also contributes to the organization of other scientific events such as Chemistree, and offers practice sessions for thesis defenses to support students in their preparation.

Beyond its scientific activities, CASSIR is committed to strengthening cohesion among its members through a variety of social events. Regular afterworks and informal gatherings are organized, including evenings at bars, barbecues, Easter egg hunts, and initiatives such as the “Lunch of Nations.” The association also offers cultural activities such as board game nights and creative workshops (e.g., pottery).

Finally, CASSIR takes part in inter-team and inter-laboratory events, such as the Olympiads organized in partnership with two other doctoral associations on campus: SYRA (IMN) and LOGIN (LS2N). These events include a range of sports and group activities such as volleyball tournaments and climbing outings.
