The CEISAM laboratory is looking to recruit a professor of chemistry whose speciality is molecular theoretical chemistry and fitting in with the laboratory's priority themes: ‘Chemistry/Health’, ‘Chemistry/Molecular Photonics’ and/or ‘Chemistry/Environment’. The position is completely open. The person recruited will join the Modelling and Spectroscopy (ModES) team, which currently consists of eight permanent staff, including two research support staff members.
On the research side, the person recruited will propose an original research programme in the field of molecular theoretical chemistry, which could focus in particular on: modelling the environment and interfaces; relativity; chemical reactivity; artificial intelligence; or the development of new methods. The aim is to fit in with the activities of the team and the laboratory, while adding value in terms of skills and know-how.
On the teaching side, the person recruited will teach in the chemistry department of Nantes Faculty of Science and Technology. He or she will be involved in various courses in physical chemistry and theoretical molecular chemistry, from the bachelor's to the master's level, and will also contribute to the application of the Competency-Based Approach currently being implemented in the bachelor's and master's chemistry courses. The person recruited should be able to teach physical chemistry in English and should also contribute to the transformation of the practice of chemistry into numerical modelling.
